Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under physician supervision, including history taking, physical exams, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Assist in surgical procedures, including preparation, intraoperative support, and post-operative care
- Conduct follow-up appointments and monitor patient progress throughout their recovery
- Participate in the management of orthopedic conditions such as sports injuries, joint replacements, shoulder surgery, hand surgery, and orthopedic trauma
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-surgical care instructions
- Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with industry standards
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Participate in on-call rotations, including some evenings and weekends, as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current or pending Physician Assistant licensure in California (PA-C)
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) preferred
- Strong interest in orthopedics and sports medicine
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and flexible scheduling
