Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations focused on orthopedic conditions.
- Assist in diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses using advanced clinical judgment and diagnostic tools.
- Develop and implement patient care plans under the supervision of orthopedic physicians.
- Provide patient education on injury prevention, treatment plans, post-operative care, and rehabilitation strategies.
- Participate in surgical procedures as first or second assist, supporting the orthopedic surgery team during operations.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures as appropriate.
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative evaluations, monitor patient recovery, and coordinate discharge planning.
- Document all patient encounters, evaluations, and treatment plans accurately within the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in orthopedic medicine, treatment techniques, and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Valid state license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Previous orthopedic or surgical experience preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
