The Orthopedic Hand Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a specialized advanced practice provider role that focuses on delivering high-quality care to patients with a variety of hand and upper extremity conditions. The Orthopedic Hand Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be engaged in a locum contract, providing critical support and expertise across a range of clinical environments. As an integral part of the orthopedic team, the Nurse Practitioner will work to ensure optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practices and collaborative interdisciplinary care.

In this contract role, the Orthopedic Hand Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work three 12-hour night shifts per week. The organization provides comprehensive support for locum professionals, including malpractice coverage, lodging, travel, rental car or mileage reimbursement, and more. This ensures that the provider can focus on delivering patient-centered care without logistical concerns. The position is open to candidates with a strong background in orthopedic hand trauma surgery or plastic hand surgery, and will also consider qualified Physician Assistants (PAs) with equivalent experience.

The Orthopedic Hand Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for managing both acute and chronic hand and upper extremity conditions, including trauma, degenerative disorders, and post-surgical recovery. This role involves working within a high-acuity academic medical center, collaborating closely with orthopedic surgeons, residents, and other healthcare professionals. The provider will provide services across outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and perioperative environments, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for all patients.

Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests, and developing individualized treatment plans. The Orthopedic Hand Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) will participate in surgical procedures, assist in perioperative care, and manage the post-operative recovery process.
