Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye exams, refractions, and vision assessments for patients of all ages.
- Perform contact lens fittings, training, and ongoing management for new and existing lens wearers.
- Conduct evaluations and therapeutic interventions for dry eye and other common ocular surface disorders.
- Monitor and manage glaucoma and perform diabetic eye exams in accordance with up-to-date clinical guidelines.
- Co-manage post-operative cataract and LASIK patients in collaboration with ophthalmology partners.
- Deliver urgent eye care, including the evaluation and management of red eye, flashes, floaters, and acute eye pain.
- Perform fundus examinations, interpret OCT results, visual field testing, tonometry, and slit-lamp exams as indicated.
- Provide foreign body removal and document all findings and treatments accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with a primary care team and an optometric technician to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active or eligible license to practice optometry as required by state regulations.
- Board Certification by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO).
- Valid DEA registration.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
- Graduation from an accredited optometry program (OD degree).
- Minimum of two years' clinical experience preferred; one year considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
- Demonstrated comfort and competence in providing care within rural or community-focused healthcare settings.
