We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Operating Room RN (Cardiac Surgery) to join our surgical team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled registered nurse to advance their career in a dynamic, high-acuity surgical environment. The Operating Room RN (Cardiac Surgery) will provide exceptional perioperative nursing care to patients across all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric, with a specialized focus on cardiac procedures. Reporting directly to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care throughout the surgical experience.
As an Operating Room RN (Cardiac Surgery), you will collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other allied health professionals. Key responsibilities include preparing the operating room for cardiac procedures, monitoring and documenting patient condition throughout the perioperative process, and coordinating patient care to optimize outcomes. Your expertise in cardiac surgery, coupled with your commitment to best practices and patient safety, will directly impact the delivery of world-class surgical services.
This role requires a candidate with at least one year of perioperative nursing experience or equivalent on-the-job training, as well as specific experience in cardiac surgery. Experience in Pre-Op and Post-Op care is preferred, further enhancing your ability to provide comprehensive care throughout the surgical continuum. The Operating Room RN (Cardiac Surgery) must hold a current and valid State Registered Nurse (RN) License, with additional certifications including BLS (AHA) required upon hire, and ACLS (AHA) & PALS (AHA) required within 30 days of employment. While not mandatory, holding the CNOR (AORN) certification is preferred and demonstrates a higher level of expertise in perioperative nursing.
