Working as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) at Decypher provides exposure to a collaborative healthcare environment, where your expertise in surgical nursing is highly valued. In this role, you will be responsible for comprehensive perioperative care, from preoperative assessment to intraoperative assistance and postoperative monitoring. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment. Your attention to detail and adherence to established protocols will ensure the highest standards of patient care and infection control.
The duties of the Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) are multifaceted and require advanced clinical skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will be relied upon to set up operating rooms for a variety of surgical cases, implement and monitor infection control measures, and maintain compliance with Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) guidelines. Additionally, you will support process improvement initiatives and regulatory requirements, execute physician orders, and ensure accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Care Record (EHCR). Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Summary- Provide specialized perioperative nursing care for surgical patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and sterile operating room environment in compliance with AORN standards.
- Support Decypher’s mission to deliver quality healthcare to service members, veterans, and their families.
- Assess patients and administer preoperative medications as required.
- Prepare the operating room with appropriate sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields.
- Monitor patient vital signs throughout surgical procedures and respond to intraoperative changes.
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies and regulatory standards.
- Document all procedures and care activities accurately in the EHCR.
- Implement nursing interventions to prevent complications and minimize hospitalization needs.
- Train and orient newly assigned personnel as required.
- Maintain a safe working environment and encourage staff safety practices.

- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required).
- Current unrestricted LPN/LVN license in one of the 50 US States or territories.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS/ALS) certification (required).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required).
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in the Operating Room (within the last three years).
- Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification preferred but not required.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Experienced in perioperative nursing and familiar with a range of surgical procedures.
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Committed to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
- Able to function independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and situations.

- Work schedule typically consists of 40 hours per week with flexibility in start times and occasional rotating late shifts.
- On-call obligations may include off-duty, weekend, and holiday requirements.
- Reporting in person to the medical treatment facility (MTF) during on-call hours may be required.
