You will be responsible for preparing the operating room for surgery, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile, and maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols. During surgical procedures, you will monitor patients’ vital signs, anticipate the needs of the surgical team, and respond swiftly to any changes in patient status.
In this full-time role, you will work a core schedule of Monday through Friday, typically from 06:45 to 15:15, with some flexibility required based on surgical caseloads. The ability to adapt to extended shifts as surgeries run over is essential. Additionally, the role involves on-call responsibilities, including one weeknight every two weeks and one full weekend every six weeks. This commitment ensures that high-quality surgical care is available to patients at all times.
The ideal candidate for the Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) position will have a minimum of two years of experience in a busy operating room setting. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are critical attributes for success.
