Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Summary
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Monitor patient status, anticipate needs, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Maintain a sterile and organized environment adhering to industry standards and infection control protocols.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and efficiently.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status and develop individualized perioperative care plans based on physician orders and surgical requirements.
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments, ensuring all equipment is functioning and sterilized.
- Assist surgeons and surgical technologists during procedures, providing instruments and anticipating needs.
- Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and comfort throughout the surgical experience.
- Manage and document preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, following facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Support anesthesia teams with patient positioning and monitoring vital signs.
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance audits as required by the healthcare facility.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience, with a strong preference for perioperative or operating room environments.
- Completion of a Surgery Technician course is required.
- Operation Room Technician certification is highly desirable and may enhance your candidacy.
