Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) - Summary- Full-time position providing perioperative care in a high-acuity surgical environment
- Specialized focus on cardiac surgery procedures for patients of all age groups
- Reports to OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services
- Collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members

- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients across the lifespan
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, supplies, and instrumentation
- Monitor patient status and vital signs throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure efficient patient flow and adherence to protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold regulatory standards in all aspects of patient care

- Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and post-surgical care

- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of one year perioperative nursing experience or equivalent on-the-job training
- Specific experience in cardiac surgery required
- Experience in pre-op and post-op care preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS, AHA) certification required upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS, AHA) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS, AHA) required within 30 days of hire
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR, AORN) certification preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates advanced cardiac perioperative nursing knowledge and skills
- Exhibits leadership qualities and works effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Maintains composure and accuracy in high-stress, fast-paced environments
