The Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) is responsible for comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative continuum, with a primary focus on cardiac surgery procedures. Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) - Summary
- Full-time position providing perioperative care in a high-acuity surgical environment

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative care with a primary focus on cardiac surgery
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients across the lifespan
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment, supplies, and instrumentation
- Monitor patient status and vital signs throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure efficient patient flow and adherence to protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold regulatory standards in all aspects of patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety checks, and staff education
- Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and post-surgical care

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of one year perioperative nursing experience or equivalent on-the-job training
- Specific experience in cardiac surgery required
- Experience in pre-op and post-op care preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS, AHA) certification required upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS, AHA) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS, AHA) required within 30 days of hire
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR, AORN) certification preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
