IDR is seeking a OpCon Administrator to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting batch processing operations within a large enterprise environment, focusing on ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of workloads across Linux/UNIX systems without mentioning the specific company name or compensation details.
Position Overview for the OpCon Administrator:
- Administer and monitor OpCon batch jobs, schedules, calendars, and dependencies to ensure timely and accurate execution of workloads
- Perform daily system health checks and actively manage job queues to meet batch windows and SLAs
- Operate and recover batch workloads, including holds/releases, reruns, restarts, and backouts, following established runbooks
- Troubleshoot and resolve job failures using return codes, logs, and runtime metrics, escalating issues with clear documentation of impact and root cause
- Build, configure, and maintain OpCon objects, including job definitions, schedules, calendars, resources, and event-based triggers
Requirements for the OpCon Administrator:
- 2+ years of experience administering batch jobs using OpCon in a production environment
- 2+ years of hands-on experience managing OpCon schedules, calendars, and job dependencies
- Strong understanding of batch processing concepts, including job chains, dependencies, calendars, critical paths, rerun/restart strategies, and cutover windows
- Experience supporting batch operations in Linux/UNIX environments
- Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot scripts and logs (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
