The Oncology Pharmacist plays a crucial role within hospital pharmacy teams, specializing in the therapeutic management of cancer patients. As an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Oncology Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in oncology settings. This role typically requires advanced training, such as a Pharm.D. degree and completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency programs, and may also benefit from Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP) and experience with electronic health record systems like EPIC/Beacon.
