The Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) will work within a collaborative, supportive environment. The Cancer Institute is equipped with the latest medical advancements and provides access to an array of services, including radiation oncology, infusion therapy, genetic testing, surgical interventions (including robotics), clinical trials, tumor boards, registered dietitians, and dedicated cancer navigators. Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) - Summary
- Full-time, advanced practice position providing direct oncology care to patients across the cancer care continuum.
- Integral member of a multidisciplinary oncology team in a highly regarded Cancer Institute.

- Support provided for obtaining necessary state licensure if not already held in Iowa or Illinois.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop oncology-specific care plans, and manage patient treatments in collaboration with attending physicians and other specialists.
- Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and provide ongoing evaluation of patient progress.
- Participate in tumor boards, clinical trials, and multidisciplinary case reviews to ensure evidence-based care.
- Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment plans, side effect management, and survivorship.
- Coordinate with radiation oncology, infusion services, genetic counselors, dietitians, and cancer navigators to deliver holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to remain current with best practices in oncology care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited nursing program (for NP) or physician assistant program (for PA).
- Current, unrestricted RN and NP/PA licensure, with eligibility to practice in Iowa and Illinois.
- At least 1 year of oncology experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred; alternatively, a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in oncology with certification as an oncology nurse is accepted.
- Ability to obtain and maintain state and federal prescriptive authority.
- Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt).
