Office Engineer - Summary
- Coordinate all administrative and technical functions for construction projects from planning through closeout.
- Serve as a liaison among project managers, contractors, consultants, field staff, and stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of large-scale public and private sector facility improvement projects.
- Ensure comprehensive compliance with district, state, and federal standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate project administration and coordination, including planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, labor compliance, and closeout activities.
- Maintain project documentation, files, correspondence, invoices, and progress reports.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, consultants, and field teams throughout all project phases.
- Interpret and evaluate architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Assist in contract strategy development and contract award documentation coordination.
- Review and respond to Requests for Clarification, Change Order Proposals, and Change Directives.
- Prepare cost estimates and support negotiations for contractor change orders.
- Support claims management by collecting and analyzing contract data and documentation.
- Review contractor baseline schedules, monitor project schedules, and assess critical path activities.
- Verify project progress through site visits and field observations.
- Prepare project status and progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Review constructability reports and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Lead or support quality assurance initiatives, including required testing and inspections.
- Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting minutes.
- Assist with project closeout, including collection of as-built drawings, maintenance manuals, and final documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior project management staff.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of eight years of professional experience in project or construction management.
- Experience with commercial, public sector, or educational facility construction projects valued at $15 million or more.
- Strong background in construction administration, project controls, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements for candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project demands.
