The role of an Obstetrician Gynecologist (OBGYN) is critical in providing comprehensive healthcare to women, focusing on both obstetric and gynecological needs. This position offers the opportunity to deliver patient-centered care within a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment. As an OBGYN, you will be responsible for managing clinical care, performing surgical procedures, and participating in on-call rotations. The practice is supported by a team that includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs), Certified Nurse Midwives (CMNs), and dedicated office staff. This collaborative structure is designed to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and a positive experience for both patients and staff.

Coverage is generally required from Friday through Tuesday each week. Weekdays are dedicated to a combination of clinic responsibilities and call coverage, with the support of midwives to enhance patient care and workflow. On weekends, the OBGYN will handle physician call responsibilities, ensuring a continuity of care during these periods. The OBGYN is expected to respond to calls within 30 minutes, managing a call ratio of 0-5 per 24-hour shift. On average, the role includes 0-3 phone consults, 4-6 patients seen, and 4 admissions per shift. The variety of cases will challenge and expand your clinical expertise, while the support staff ensures that you can focus on providing medical care.

This position requires a recent and robust clinical background. Candidates must have completed at least 50 deliveries, including a minimum of 12 cesarean sections, within the past 12 months. In addition, experience in gynecological surgery is essential, with a requirement of 25 GYN surgeries—at least 5 of which must be major vaginal and abdominal cases—performed within the same 12-month timeframe. Maintaining recent experience in these core competencies ensures that you are prepared to handle the clinical and surgical demands of the role.

The OBGYN role provides a fulfilling opportunity to make a significant impact on women’s health within a collaborative and resource-rich practice setting. As a valued member of the healthcare team, you will have the chance to grow your clinical skills, participate in ongoing learning, and contribute to the overall mission of delivering exceptional care.
