OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN, MD) - Summary
The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN, MD) oversees the operational and clinical aspects of the OB hospitalist program. This role includes managing relationships with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and the OB hospitalist team, as well as ensuring that the clinical team upholds value-based care standards. The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN, MD) reports directly to senior clinical leaders and plays a key part in developing new clinicians and maintaining compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct daily program operations to ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered obstetric care.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing teams, administrative leaders, and the OB hospitalist workforce.
- Collaborate with Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations to meet clinical and operational targets.
- Manage and support the integration of new clinicians into the hospitalist team, emphasizing the value-based culture of the organization.
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, protocols, and expectations, ensuring all team members adhere to established standards.
- Address minor physician issues, escalating concerns to senior medical leadership as appropriate.
- Promote hospital labor and delivery unit utilization through collaboration with hospital leadership and operations teams.
- Travel to hospital sites as needed to address operational priorities, participate in meetings, and support team engagement.
- Provide mentorship and ongoing professional development opportunities for clinicians under your supervision.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN, MD).
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the assigned state.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and foster positive working relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nursing staff, and corporate stakeholders.
- Experience in obstetrical emergency care is highly preferred.
