The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) role presents a significant leadership opportunity for experienced Board Certified OB/GYN physicians seeking to influence the quality and operational excellence of OB hospitalist programs. As a key member of the OB hospitalist clinical team, the OB Hospitalist Site Director is responsible for overseeing program operations, fostering a value-based culture, and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong commitment to collaboration, relationship-building, and driving the continual development of clinical and operational objectives within the hospital setting.
The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) works closely with medical, nursing, and administrative leadership, as well as the physician and Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) hospitalist team. Reporting to senior leadership, including the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations, the role involves ongoing coordination to maintain a high-performance OB hospitalist program. The Site Director will represent the hospitalist team at the hospital, address operational priorities, and support the professional growth of clinicians in alignment with value-based practices.
In this leadership capacity, the OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) manages program operations to ensure quality care delivery, builds and maintains positive relationships with hospital staff, and enforces clinical policies and procedures. The Site Director is integral to the onboarding and continued development of new clinicians, setting clear expectations and upholding high standards for patient care. The ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues efficiently is essential for success in this role.
With a commitment to operational efficiency and clinical excellence, the OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) will work collaboratively to identify opportunities for increasing labor and delivery utilization and address the evolving needs of the hospitalist program. As part of this commitment, the Site Director will have a regular in-hospital presence and may be required to travel to address operational priorities.
This position requires a minimum shift commitment, with at least five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts within each 28-day period, ensuring continuous engagement with the clinical team and the hospital environment.
