OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) - Summary
The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) serves as the clinical and operational leader of the OB hospitalist program. This position focuses on fostering a value-based culture, building strong relationships with medical and nursing staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality obstetrical care. The Site Director collaborates closely with hospital leadership, administrative teams, and the wider OB hospitalist team to support organizational goals and patient safety standards. This role requires an individual with a strong clinical background, proven leadership skills, and the ability to mentor and guide fellow clinicians.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure the delivery of quality obstetrical care by the OB hospitalist team.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing teams, administrative leadership, and the physician/CNM hospitalist team.
- Report directly to the Market Medical Director (MMD), Medical Director of Operations (MDO), or Vice President of Clinical Operations (VPCO).
- Collaborate with leadership to align the clinical team’s efforts with both organizational and hospital operational objectives.
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities and support the OB hospitalist staff.
- Train and develop new clinicians, fostering a value-based culture and upholding clinical standards.
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations among the team.
- Manage minor physician-related issues and escalate matters to senior leadership as necessary.
- Work with hospital leadership and clinical directors to identify strategies for increasing labor and delivery utilization.
- Fulfill a minimum of five (5) 24-hour OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period, providing direct patient care as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of the assigned site.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and positive working relationships with all stakeholders, including hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
