OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director) - Summary
- Leadership role responsible for program operations, clinical oversight, and quality assurance in a hospital-based OB/GYN hospitalist program.
- Directs and collaborates with physicians, CNMs, nursing, and hospital administration to ensure delivery of high-quality obstetric care.
- Acts as the primary liaison between the OB hospitalist team and hospital leadership.
- Upholds and develops a value-based, patient-centered care culture within the labor and delivery department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily program operations to ensure the highest standard of obstetric care is delivered within the hospital.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, administrative leaders, and the OB hospitalist team.
- Report to and collaborate with the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations to align with organizational goals.
- Travel onsite as needed to address urgent hospital and operational priorities and ensure smooth program function.
- Train, mentor, and support new clinicians, integrating them into the program’s value-based care culture.
- Communicate and enforce all clinical policies, procedures, and expectations to the clinical team.
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate significant matters to appropriate leadership as necessary.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and executive staff to identify strategies for increasing labor and delivery service utilization.
- Work at least five 24-hour shifts (or equivalent) per 28-day period as an OB hospitalist.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification as an OB/GYN physician.
- Current, valid medical license to practice medicine in the assigned state.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain positive working relationships with hospital leadership, clinicians, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
