OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN Hospitalist Director)
The OB Hospitalist Site Director plays a pivotal leadership role within a multidisciplinary OB Hospitalist clinical team. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, value-based obstetric care in a hospital setting, while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment among medical staff, nursing teams, and administrative leadership. As an OB Hospitalist Site Director, you will be instrumental in aligning clinical operations with both organizational and hospital objectives, promoting best practices, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
Working closely with the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations, the OB Hospitalist Site Director acts as the primary liaison between hospital administration and the OB hospitalist team. This leadership role involves overseeing daily program operations, maintaining effective communication between all stakeholders, and ensuring clinical quality standards are met consistently. Traveling to the hospital as needed, the OB Hospitalist Site Director addresses operational priorities and works proactively to resolve issues, enhance workflows, and facilitate a high standard of patient care.
Key responsibilities for the OB Hospitalist Site Director include actively participating in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new clinicians, upholding and enforcing clinical policies and procedures, and serving as a mentor for the OB hospitalist team. This position also manages minor physician concerns, escalating issues appropriately to senior leadership as needed, and collaborates with hospital leadership to identify and implement strategies to optimize labor and delivery utilization within the facility.
The OB Hospitalist Site Director position requires a commitment to a minimum of five 24-hour (or equivalent) hospitalist shifts per 28-day period, ensuring hands-on leadership and direct involvement in patient care.
