The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) plays a pivotal leadership role within the hospital's obstetrics team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, value-based care across all hospitalist operations. As an integral member of the OB Hospitalist clinical team, the Site Director is responsible for overseeing program operations, fostering collaborative relationships, and supporting the professional development of clinicians. This position is essential for driving quality, safety, and operational excellence in the hospital’s labor and delivery services, in line with organizational and hospital goals.
This full-time OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) opportunity provides a unique chance to influence hospitalist operations, mentor professional staff, and uphold the highest standards in obstetrical care. Working closely with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership, the Site Director ensures strong communication, effective policy enforcement, and continual improvement in clinical outcomes. The role requires regular collaboration with the Market Medical Director (MMD), Medical Director of Operations (MDO), Vice President of Clinical Operations (VPCO), and other stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and operational priorities. Occasional travel to the hospital site is expected to address clinical and operational needs, support staff, and participate in leadership meetings.
The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) is also accountable for onboarding and developing new clinicians, promoting a positive value-based culture, and facilitating ongoing education and training. The director manages minor physician issues, escalates matters as appropriate, and helps identify strategies to increase labor and delivery utilization in partnership with hospital leadership. Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily OB hospitalist program operations to ensure quality care delivery
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, administrative leadership, and the physician/CNM OB Hospitalist team
- Report to the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations
- Collaborate with leadership to meet clinical and operational objectives for both the organization and the hospital
- Travel to the hospital site as needed to address operational priorities and support clinical teams
- Train and mentor new clinicians, fostering a value-based culture
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate complex matters appropriately
- Work with leadership to identify ways to increase labor and delivery utilization
- Maintain strong clinical presence by working at least five 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (OB Hospitalist)
- Licensed to practice medicine in the applicable state
- Proven ability to build strong rapport and positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders including hospital leadership, clinical teams, and staff
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred
