As part of the OB Hospitalist clinical team, the OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) serves as a key liaison between hospital medical staff, nursing staff, administrative leadership, and the dedicated OB Hospitalist team, including physicians and certified nurse midwives.
This position reports directly to leadership, such as the Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations. The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) is responsible for fostering a culture of excellence in clinical care, communication, and teamwork, aligning with both organizational and hospital objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership in clinical settings, and a passion for advancing obstetrical care programs.
In this role, the OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) will regularly interact with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and operational staff to ensure program success. The position requires the ability to manage day-to-day operations, train and develop new clinicians in a value-based culture, enforce clinical policies and procedures, and address minor physician-related issues appropriately. Travel to the hospital site may be required to address operational priorities and to maintain strong relationships with hospital stakeholders.

OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee program operations to ensure delivery of high-quality obstetrical care
- Build and maintain effective relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership
- Maintain strong rapport with physician and certified nurse midwife OB Hospitalist team
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical directors to achieve operational objectives
- Travel to hospital site as needed to address operational priorities and strengthen partnerships
- Train and develop new clinicians in value-based care practices
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations among the clinical team
- Manage minor physician issues and escalate as appropriate to senior leadership
- Work collaboratively to identify strategies for increasing labor and delivery service utilization
- Fulfill at least five (5) 24-hour or equivalent hospitalist shifts per 28-day period

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified OB/GYN Physician (MD or DO)
- Active medical license in the state of the assigned site
- Proven ability to build positive working relationships with clinical and administrative staff
- Experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
