The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) serves as a bridge between the hospital’s medical staff, nursing teams, administrative leadership, and the OB Hospitalist group, fostering positive relationships and effective communication. You will play a key role in mentoring and developing clinicians, enforcing clinical protocols, and addressing operational challenges. This position involves direct reporting to a Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, or Vice President of Clinical Operations, ensuring alignment with both hospital and organizational goals. The position requires a proactive approach to program operations, regular on-site presence, and a commitment to maintaining a culture of safety, quality, and excellence.
The OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) is also responsible for managing minor physician-related issues and collaborating with hospital leadership to enhance labor and delivery utilization. Your expertise in obstetrical emergency care and relationship-building will be crucial to the team’s success. OB Hospitalist Site Director (OB/GYN) - Summary
- Lead and manage the OB Hospitalist program to deliver high-quality, value-based obstetric care.
- Foster collaboration among physicians, nurses, administrators, and OB Hospitalist teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison between hospital leadership and the OB Hospitalist group.
- Report to senior medical and clinical operations directors, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Mentor, train, and develop new clinicians in the value-based care model.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee program operations to ensure consistent delivery of quality care within the OB Hospitalist program.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, nursing staff, and administrative leadership.
- Maintain strong rapport with both physician and certified nurse midwife (CNM) OB Hospitalist teams.
- Collaborate with senior medical leadership (Market Medical Director, Medical Director of Operations, Vice President of Clinical Operations) to achieve clinical and operational goals.
- Travel to the hospital as needed to address operational priorities and support the hospitalist team.
- Train and develop new clinicians to embrace and uphold the value-based care culture.
- Communicate and enforce clinical policies, procedures, and expectations among the clinical team.
- Manage minor physician-related issues and escalate concerns to senior leadership as appropriate.
- Work with hospital leadership to identify opportunities to increase labor and delivery utilization.
- Fulfill at least five (5) 24-hour (or equivalent) OB hospitalist shifts per 28-day period.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certification as an OB/GYN Physician is required.
- Current medical license to practice in the state where the site is located.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with hospital leadership, OB Hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
