OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Serve as a core member of the OB Hospitalist team, providing direct patient care for obstetric and gynecological patients in a hospital environment.
- Ensure a high standard of patient safety and clinical quality for all admitted patients, regardless of primary provider.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians, midwives, nursing staff, and hospital leadership to foster a cohesive patient care experience.
- Embrace professional growth through ongoing education, certifications, and clinical practice advancements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including the management of labor and delivery, prenatal, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Administer contraceptive services at facilities offering such services, ensuring patient autonomy and informed choice.
- Deliver direct care to high-risk pregnant patients, employing sound clinical judgment and utilizing available Maternal Fetal Medicine support via telemedicine when necessary.
- Participate actively in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds, contributing to care planning and patient management discussions.
- Function as the designated Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, safeguarding the well-being of all patients by upholding best practices and safety protocols.
- Provide clinical assistance and coverage for community physicians and midwives as needed, ensuring seamless patient care transitions and collaborative practice.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards governing obstetric and gynecological care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Possession of a valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of assignment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build positive relationships with hospital leadership, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
- Demonstrated experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining professional credentials, continuing education, and certifications.
