OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
As an OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist), you will play a vital role in the hospital's labor and delivery unit, providing direct obstetrical and gynecological care to a diverse patient population. This position involves managing high-risk pregnancies, collaborating with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, and serving as a resource for community physicians and midwives. The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) ensures patient safety, participates in daily board rounds, and acts as a clinical leader within the multidisciplinary team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services where applicable.
- Provide direct patient care to high-risk patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support through telephone or video consultation when necessary.
- Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds to facilitate coordinated patient care.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring optimal safety and outcomes for all patients regardless of their primary admitting clinician.
- Support community physicians and midwives by offering clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested and safely available.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, nursing teams, staff physicians, and corporate staff to build positive working relationships and maintain high standards of care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) required.
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of assignment.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and effective working relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care preferred.
