The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) plays an essential role in delivering comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care within a hospital setting. As an integral member of a dedicated OB Hospitalist clinical team, this position is responsible for managing a wide spectrum of patient needs, including high-risk pregnancies, emergency care, and supporting the highest standards of maternal and newborn safety. Physicians in this role will work collaboratively with community physicians, midwives, and hospital leadership to ensure optimal outcomes for all patients receiving care in the obstetric unit. This is a highly collaborative and dynamic opportunity for board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN physicians who are passionate about hospital-based women's health care and maternal safety. OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Provide direct inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care
- Ensure the safety and well-being of laboring women, newborns, and their families
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality healthcare services
- Support and collaborate with community physicians and midwives
- Adhere to best practices and evidence-based guidelines within the hospital setting
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services as available
- Provide direct patient care, particularly to high-risk patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support via telephone or video consultation when necessary
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds, contributing to multidisciplinary care planning
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring safe outcomes for all patients regardless of their primary admitting clinician
- Support community physicians and midwives through clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested, maintaining safe and effective care standards
- Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills with hospital teams and staff

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of the assigned site
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and maintain positive working relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nursing staff, physicians, and corporate staff
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred

Other Relevant Information
- Majority of shifts are 24-hour shifts, with some 12-hour or mixed-shift models available
- Full-time OB Hospitalist Physicians typically work 5-9 (24-hour) shifts per 28-day scheduling block
