The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) role is essential for maintaining patient safety, supporting labor and delivery units, and ensuring that all patients receive the highest standard of care regardless of their primary admitting clinician. OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary- Provide direct obstetrical and gynecological patient care in a hospital setting
- Serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary labor and delivery team
- Champion patient safety and best practices for maternal health
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including the provision of contraceptive services where offered
- Provide expert care to high-risk obstetrical patients, including those requiring consultation with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists via telephone or video as needed
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Act as Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, upholding standards for safety and quality for all patients
- Offer clinical assistance and practice coverage to community physicians and midwives upon request, within the scope of safe patient care
- Engage in collaborative teamwork with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and other clinicians to promote a positive, supportive environment

- Eligibility for benefits begins with a minimum shift commitment per scheduling block
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the relevant state
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, able to build strong rapport with multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated experience in obstetrical emergency care is highly preferred
- Commitment to delivering safe, quality care in a dynamic hospital environment
- Proven ability to collaborate with hospital teams, community physicians, and midwives
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on patient safety and team support
- Adaptable and comfortable managing high-risk pregnancies and emergent situations

- OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) positions offer flexible scheduling models, with a majority of shifts being 24 hours and some 12-hour or mixed-shift opportunities available
- Full-time OB Hospitalist Physicians typically work a set number of 24-hour shifts per scheduling block
