OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) is responsible for delivering comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care within a hospital environment, focusing on high-risk patient management, safety oversight, and collaboration with community providers. This position requires flexibility in shift work and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety. You will be joining a respected clinical program designed to meet the needs of diverse patient populations and support the broader hospital team in achieving outstanding patient outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services at hospitals where available.
- Deliver direct patient care to high-risk patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support as needed via telemedicine or telephone consultation when available.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to assess and coordinate patient care plans.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring optimal safety and outcomes for all patients.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians and midwives, including providing clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested and feasible.
- Work a mix of 24-hour and potentially 12-hour shifts, typically completing 5 or more shifts per 28-day block as a full-time clinician.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Active Candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of the assigned hospital site.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with hospital staff, leadership, and community providers.
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining all relevant certifications and licensure.
