The OB Hospitalist Physician, also known as an OB/GYN Hospitalist, plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care within a hospital setting. OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary- Deliver high-quality, in-hospital obstetrical and gynecological care.
- Serve as a safety leader and clinical resource in labor and delivery.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

- Provide direct obstetrical and gynecological patient care, including contraceptive services (where available).
- Manage high-risk obstetrical patients, often in collaboration with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists via remote consultation when on-site support is unavailable.
- Participate in daily labor and delivery board rounds, contributing to case discussions and patient care planning.
- Act as the designated Safety Officer on labor and delivery units, ensuring adherence to best practices and promoting patient safety for all admissions.
- Offer clinical support and coverage to community physicians and midwives as needed and within safe practice guidelines.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence.

- Eligibility for benefits begins with a minimum shift commitment of five shifts per 28-day block.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn Physician).
- Active medical license (or eligibility) to practice in the assigned state.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and collaborate with hospital leadership, clinical teams, nursing staff, community physicians, and midwives.
- Significant experience in managing obstetrical emergencies is strongly preferred.
- Commitment to upholding best practices in patient safety and quality care.
- Experienced in acute obstetric and gynecological care within a hospital setting.
- Skilled in managing high-acuity and complex cases, often requiring multidisciplinary coordination.
- Highly relational, with exceptional communication and team-building skills.
- Proactive in participating in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- Adaptable, with the ability to excel in fast-paced and evolving clinical environments.
