OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care within the hospital environment.
- Provide direct patient care, including to high-risk patients, often in collaboration with Maternal Fetal Medicine experts.
- Act as a key member of the clinical team, ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Support community physicians and midwives by offering clinical assistance and practice coverage as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services, where applicable.
- Deliver direct patient care to women with various levels of risk, ensuring safety in all interventions.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds, contributing to collaborative care planning and quality improvement.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, advocating for patient safety and optimal outcomes for all patients under your supervision.
- Offer clinical support to community physicians and midwives, including covering for absences and providing assistance during complex cases.
- Engage in interprofessional communication to enhance patient care and hospital operations.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in OB/GYN hospitalist medicine through continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician.
- Active medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, positive working relationships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, staff physicians, and administrative personnel.
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and professionalism.

- The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) position involves a combination of 24-hour and 12-hour shifts, with a majority being 24-hour shifts. Full-time clinicians typically work 5-9 (24-hour) shifts per 28-day scheduling block.
