As an OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist), you will be responsible for providing both routine and high-risk obstetric care, gynecological services, and supporting community providers. You will serve as a key clinical leader during your shifts, ensuring the best possible outcomes for all patients in the Labor and Delivery unit. OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Provide direct obstetrical and gynecological care to patients in a hospital setting
- Ensure high standards of safety and quality throughout all stages of care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including community physicians and midwives
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds and serve as the unit's Safety Officer
- Support a culture of continuous improvement in maternal and newborn outcomes
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care, including providing contraceptive services where applicable
- Offer direct patient care to high-risk obstetric patients, sometimes in settings where Maternal Fetal Medicine support is available only via telemedicine
- Actively participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to coordinate patient care and ensure safety
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, focusing on risk mitigation and ensuring optimal outcomes for every patient, regardless of their primary provider
- Provide clinical assistance and practice coverage to community physicians and midwives as needed and as safely possible
- Engage in continuous communication with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to foster positive working relationships
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in obstetrical emergency care

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
- Active medical license for the state of the assigned hospital site
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and foster positive working relationships with all stakeholders, including hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred
