OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) is responsible for delivering expert obstetrical and gynecological care to a diverse patient population. The role involves direct clinical care, participation in labor and delivery rounds, and collaboration with hospital staff and community providers. The position is ideal for physicians committed to patient safety, teamwork, and continuous professional development. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing critical care to high-risk patients and contributing to the overall quality of the OB Hospitalist program.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where applicable.
- Deliver direct patient care for high-risk patients, utilizing telemedicine resources for Maternal Fetal Medicine support as needed.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety for all, regardless of primary admitting provider.
- Support community physicians and midwives by providing clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested, balancing availability and safety.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of best practices within the OB Hospitalist program.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate in OB/GYN.
- Valid license to practice medicine in the state of assignment.
- Proven ability to build strong, positive working relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a highly relational approach to team and patient care.
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
