In this role, you will deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to a diverse patient population. Your expertise will be especially crucial in managing high-risk pregnancies and providing critical support during labor and delivery, including situations where Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation is available remotely. The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) position requires a proactive approach to patient safety, clinical collaboration, and the delivery of evidence-based care aligned with best practices.
As part of the OB Hospitalist team, you will participate in daily labor and delivery board rounds, acting as a liaison between community physicians, midwives, and the hospitalist group. You will also serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring that all patients—regardless of their primary admitting clinician—receive the safest possible outcomes. OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Deliver hospital-based obstetric and gynecological care within a multidisciplinary team.
- Manage high-risk pregnancies and emergent OB/GYN cases with a focus on patient safety.
- Participate in clinical rounds and serve as a key clinical resource on the Labor and Delivery floor.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians, midwives, and hospital staff.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services where applicable.
- Deliver care to high-risk patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support as needed via phone or video consultation.
- Participate actively in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, advocating for best outcomes for all patients.
- Provide clinical assistance and coverage for community physicians and midwives as requested, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Current medical license in the state of practice.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience in managing obstetrical emergencies is preferred.
