OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Serve as a key clinical leader in the labor and delivery unit, ensuring safe and effective care for all obstetric and gynecologic patients.
- Provide direct patient care, including management of high-risk cases and urgent/emergent situations, often with maternal fetal medicine support available remotely.
- Collaborate with community physicians, midwives, and hospital staff to enhance patient outcomes and support seamless care transitions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services where available.
- Provide care for high-risk obstetric patients, utilizing teleconsultation with maternal fetal medicine specialists as needed.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to coordinate patient care with the broader clinical team.
- Act as Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring patient safety protocols are followed for all patients.
- Support community physicians and midwives by offering clinical assistance and coverage as requested within safe practice boundaries.
- Work a majority of 24-hour shifts, with some 12-hour or mixed-shift models as scheduled.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain required certifications.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of employment.

- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
