OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) – Summary
- Deliver high-quality inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care as a core member of the hospitalist team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure patient safety and excellent clinical outcomes.
- Support and assist community physicians and midwives as needed, fostering a collegial and inclusive atmosphere.
- Participate in structured shift schedules, including primarily 24-hour shifts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where available.
- Deliver direct care to high-risk obstetrical patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support as available through phone or video consultation.
- Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds, actively contributing to care planning and coordination.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, prioritizing safe outcomes for all patients regardless of primary admitting clinician.
- Offer clinical assistance and practice coverage to community physicians and midwives as requested and as safely available.
- Embrace a collaborative approach with hospital leadership, nursing staff, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal patient experiences and outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate for certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Current medical license to practice in the state associated with the hospital location.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with hospital leadership, staff physicians, nurses, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
