This position is designed for a board-certified or active candidate OB/GYN physician who is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse populations—including high-risk obstetric patients—while supporting community physicians and fostering a culture of safety and collaboration throughout the Labor and Delivery department.
As an OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist), you will participate actively in daily board rounds, serve as a Safety Officer to uphold the highest standards of patient safety, and provide direct clinical support to both patients and fellow care providers. This dynamic role offers a range of shift options, including predominantly 24-hour shifts, with flexibility for some 12-hour or mixed-shift models. Full-time clinicians typically work 5-9 shifts over a 28-day period, ensuring a manageable and sustainable work-life balance.

OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) – Summary
- Provide hospital-based obstetric and gynecological care to patients, including those with high-risk conditions.
- Participate in daily clinical rounds and ensure patient safety as a designated Safety Officer.
- Support community-based clinicians and midwives with clinical assistance and coverage as needed.
- Engage in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on quality outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where available.
- Manage care for high-risk obstetric patients, sometimes in collaboration with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists via phone or telemedicine.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to facilitate coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
- Serve as a Safety Officer, monitoring and advocating for the safety and well-being of all patients on the unit.
- Provide clinical assistance and practice coverage to community physicians and midwives as requested and as safely available.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Current medical license to practice in the assigned state.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, effective relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
