OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care in a hospital setting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care
- Serve as a clinical resource and support system for community physicians and midwives
- Participate in daily rounds and quality improvement initiatives
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to obstetric and gynecologic patients, including high-risk cases
- Provide contraceptive services where available and appropriate
- Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds to support team-based care
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring optimal patient outcomes for all admitted patients
- Offer clinical assistance to community-based physicians and midwives, including practice coverage as requested and as safely available
- Engage in continuous communication with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists via phone or video consultation as needed
- Fulfill shift requirements, including a majority of 24-hour shifts, and some 12-hour or mixed-shift models, contributing to comprehensive coverage and continuity of care

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn), or equivalent recognized certification
- Valid state medical license for the assigned hospital site
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff
- Significant experience in managing obstetrical emergencies is highly preferred
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
