OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Deliver high-quality obstetrical and gynecological care within a hospital setting.
- Serve as a key member of the clinical team, ensuring best practices in patient safety and medical outcomes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and function as a leader in labor and delivery safety.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians and midwives, providing clinical assistance when needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for both routine and high-risk obstetric and gynecological cases, including the delivery of contraceptive services where applicable.
- Manage labor and delivery patients, including daily participation in board rounds and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Function as the designated Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, overseeing protocols and processes to ensure the safety of all patients, regardless of their primary admitting clinician.
- Deliver care to high-risk obstetric patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support via telemedicine when necessary.
- Provide clinical support to community physicians and midwives, including practice coverage and consultative assistance as requested and appropriate.
- Maintain clear documentation and communication with hospital leadership, staff physicians, and nursing teams.
- Actively engage in continuing education and professional development opportunities to maintain clinical excellence and board certification requirements.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and relevant regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Current medical license to practice as a physician in the state of the assigned hospital site.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and maintain positive working relationships with hospital leadership, medical colleagues, nursing staff, and support personnel.
- Significant experience and competency in obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to clinical best practices.
