The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality obstetrical and gynecological care within a hospital setting. The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) works closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, community physicians, and hospital staff, to deliver comprehensive care for all patients, including those with high-risk pregnancies. OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Provide expert obstetrical and gynecological care in a hospital setting
- Serve as a key member of the Labor and Delivery team, emphasizing patient safety and quality outcomes
- Support community physicians, midwives, and staff through clinical collaboration and assistance
- Work in a structured shift model, allowing for predictable scheduling and work-life balance
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services at applicable hospitals
- Provide high-level care to high-risk patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support as available through telemedicine or direct consultation
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to ensure cohesive patient care planning
- Act as Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, prioritizing the safest possible outcomes for all patients, regardless of primary admitting clinician
- Offer support to community physicians and midwives, including clinical assistance and practice coverage when needed and feasible
- Engage in collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate stakeholders
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of obstetrical emergency care practices and participate in ongoing education
- Commit to a regular shift schedule, primarily working 24-hour shifts, with some 12-hour or mixed-shift models as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of assignment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience managing obstetrical emergencies (preferred)
