OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Deliver direct patient care to obstetrical and gynecological patients, including those requiring complex and high-risk management.
- Serve as a clinical leader in a hospital-based setting, supporting continuous quality improvement in maternal and infant care.
- Engage with hospital staff, community physicians, and midwives to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in structured shift work, ensuring consistent, 24/7 hospital coverage.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including delivery and contraceptive services where available.
- Assess and manage high-risk obstetrical patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine consults when appropriate.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds, contributing to multidisciplinary discussions and patient care planning.
- Act as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring adherence to best practices and patient safety protocols for all admitted patients.
- Support and collaborate with community healthcare providers and midwives, offering clinical assistance and practice coverage as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and timely documentation of all patient encounters and clinical interventions.
- Participate in continuing medical education and maintain all required certifications and licensure.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician.
- Valid license to practice medicine in the relevant state for the assigned hospital site.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
