OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Deliver direct obstetrical and gynecological care to a diverse patient population in a hospital setting.
- Ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical quality in labor and delivery environments.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, community providers, and nursing staff.
- Contribute to shift-based hospitalist care models, providing consistent and reliable coverage for labor and delivery units.
- Support ongoing education, quality improvement, and professional development within the hospitalist team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services at designated facilities.
- Provide direct care for high-risk obstetrical patients, including those requiring remote Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation.
- Participate in daily labor and delivery board rounds, contributing to patient care planning and coordination.
- Serve as Safety Officer for labor and delivery, ensuring all patients receive optimal care regardless of their primary admitting clinician.
- Support community physicians and midwives with clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested, maintaining patient safety as the highest priority.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Valid medical license in the state of practice.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive relationships with hospital leadership, colleagues, and staff.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
