OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Responsible for providing hospital-based obstetrical and gynecological care.
- Key role in managing labor and delivery cases, including high-risk situations.
- Acts as a safety leader within the labor and delivery unit.
- Supports community physicians and midwives through collaborative care.
- Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and board reviews.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to hospital patients, including contraceptive services where applicable.
- Provide direct patient care to individuals experiencing high-risk pregnancies or complex clinical situations, including collaborating with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists via remote consultation as needed.
- Participate in daily labor and delivery board rounds, collaborating with the wider clinical team to coordinate patient care and ensure consistent communication.
- Serve as the designated Safety Officer on the labor and delivery unit, working to ensure that every patient receives the safest possible care regardless of their primary provider.
- Offer clinical support and practice coverage to community physicians, midwives, and other team members as requested and in accordance with patient safety standards.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all patient encounters and participate in quality improvement initiatives as part of the hospitalist program.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or actively pursuing certification as an OB/GYN Physician.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of the assigned site.

- Demonstrated experience in managing obstetrical emergencies is preferred.
