The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) is responsible for delivering expert care to high-risk patients, actively participating in labor and delivery board rounds, and serving as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery. OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care in a hospital setting
- Actively engage in daily labor and delivery activities
- Serve as a clinical resource and support to community physicians and midwives
- Promote patient safety and quality outcomes through evidence-based practice
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services where applicable
- Provide direct care to high-risk obstetrical patients, even when Maternal Fetal Medicine support is remote
- Participate in daily labor and delivery board rounds to review patient status and coordinate care
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring optimal safety for all patients regardless of admitting clinician
- Support community physicians and midwives through clinical assistance and practice coverage as needed
- Contribute to a team-based approach to care, fostering strong communication and collaboration among all hospital staff
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in a variety of shift models, with the majority being 24-hour coverage, and some 12-hour or mixed shifts as scheduled

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Active medical license to practice as an OB/GYN Physician in the state of assignment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with hospital staff, leadership, and community partners
- Demonstrated experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred
- Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
