OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary- Provide expert obstetrical and gynecological care to hospitalized patients, with a focus on quality and patient safety.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary hospital team, serving as both clinician and safety advocate.
- Participate in daily labor and delivery rounds, supporting optimal patient outcomes.
- Offer clinical support to community physicians and midwives as needed.
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where applicable.
- Manage care for high-risk obstetric patients, including those requiring remote Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) support via telephone or video consultation.
- Lead and participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to coordinate care and ensure best-practice protocols are followed.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring adherence to safety standards and protocols for all patients, regardless of primary admitting clinician.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians and midwives through clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested and as available.
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education to uphold clinical excellence and current best practices.

- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician.
- Active state medical license in the state of assignment or eligibility to obtain such licensure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with hospital leadership, nursing staff, physicians, and corporate team members.
- Significant experience managing obstetrical emergencies is preferred.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
- Experienced OB/GYN physician with a passion for hospital-based care.
- Proven ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure, high-acuity situations.
- Dedicated to patient safety, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing clinical environments and shift models, including 24-hour and mixed-shift schedules.
- Highly relational, able to build rapport with diverse stakeholders including patients, families, medical staff, and administrative teams.
- Shift models typically include 24-hour shifts, with some 12-hour or mixed-shift options based on clinical needs and scheduling.
- Full-time clinicians commonly work a standardized number of shifts per scheduling block, as determined by the organization.
