OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Serve as an integral member of the OB Hospitalist team, delivering expert care to obstetric and gynecologic patients with varying acuity, including high-risk and complex cases.
- Provide direct clinical care and act as Safety Officer on the Labor and Delivery unit to promote optimal outcomes for all patients.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians and midwives, offering coverage and clinical assistance as needed.
- Work within a shift-based model, primarily comprising 24-hour shifts, in a full-time clinical capacity.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where available.
- Manage direct patient care for high-risk patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation via telephone or video as required.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to review patient cases and coordinate care.
- Serve as the Safety Officer, ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care, regardless of their primary admitting clinician.
- Provide clinical assistance and support to community physicians and midwives, including practice coverage when needed and as safely available.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Active state medical license for the assigned clinical site, meeting all regulatory and credentialing requirements.
- Proven ability to build strong, positive relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and administrative personnel.
- Demonstrated competency in managing obstetrical emergencies and acute gynecologic issues (preferred).
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care, safety, and collaborative practice within the hospital environment.
