This full-time role places you at the forefront of obstetric and gynecological care, contributing to a robust clinical program designed to provide exceptional outcomes for patients and their families. As an OB Hospitalist Physician, you play a vital role in delivering comprehensive care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting the extended healthcare team in a dynamic hospital environment.
In this position, you will provide direct care to patients with varying levels of complexity, including high-risk pregnancies, often in collaboration with other specialists such as Maternal Fetal Medicine consultants. Your expertise will be instrumental in daily labor and delivery board rounds, acting as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among clinicians, nurses, and hospital leadership. In addition, you will serve as the Safety Officer for Labor and Delivery, prioritizing excellent outcomes and patient-centered care for all patients, regardless of their primary admitting clinician.
The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) is also integral to supporting community physicians and midwives, providing clinical assistance and practice coverage as needed. This collaborative approach enhances continuity of care and strengthens relationships with referring providers. Shifts for this position are predominantly 24-hour blocks, with some 12-hour or mixed-shift models available, allowing for flexibility and the ability to meet the demands of a busy hospital setting. Typical full-time clinicians work a set number of shifts per 28-day block, with eligibility for comprehensive benefits and professional development support.
