OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care in a hospital setting.
- Acts as a safety leader on the Labor and Delivery unit.
- Supports and collaborates with community physicians, midwives, and hospital staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
- Delivers care to high-risk patients, sometimes with remote Maternal Fetal Medicine support.
- Participates actively in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds and quality initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where available.
- Provide direct patient care to high-risk obstetric patients, utilizing clinical judgment in emergency and complex situations where Maternal Fetal Medicine support may be remote.
- Actively participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds, maintaining open communication with the entire care team.
- Serve as the designated Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, promoting the highest safety standards for all patients.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians and midwives, offering clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested and safely feasible.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Active Candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the assigned state.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with hospital leadership, medical teams, nurses, and staff.
- Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
