OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
As an OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist), you will provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to patients in a hospital environment, managing both routine and high-risk cases. This position is ideal for board certified or board eligible OB/GYN physicians who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting and are passionate about improving safety and outcomes for mothers and newborns. You will work closely with hospital teams, community physicians, and midwives, serving as a clinical leader and resource for best practices in women’s health care.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where available.
- Provide direct patient care for high-risk pregnancies, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support when necessary via telephone or video consultation.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring all patients receive the safest possible care regardless of their primary admitting clinician.
- Support community physicians and midwives by providing clinical assistance and practice coverage as requested and as safely available.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff to maintain a high standard of care.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or active candidate in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Active medical license to practice in the assigned state.
- Significant experience in managing obstetrical emergencies (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong rapport with stakeholders, including hospital leadership, nursing staff, and community providers.
