As an OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist), you will play a critical role in delivering direct patient care, including managing high-risk pregnancies and participating in the daily operations of Labor and Delivery. You will have the unique opportunity to serve as a Safety Officer, supporting both patients and your colleagues, and ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of care regardless of their primary provider. In addition, you will support community physicians and midwives, and be an integral part of the hospital’s comprehensive women’s health services.

OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care within a hospital setting.
- Work collaboratively with hospital leaders, nurses, community physicians, and midwives.
- Participate in safety initiatives and daily clinical operations on Labor and Delivery.
- Provide direct care for high-risk patients, including those requiring Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where available.
- Provide direct patient care to high-risk and complex cases, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support via phone or video as needed.
- Participate in daily Labor and Delivery board rounds to ensure comprehensive patient oversight.
- Serve as Safety Officer in Labor and Delivery, ensuring optimal outcomes for all patients on the unit.
- Support community physicians and midwives with clinical assistance and coverage as requested.
- Engage in shift-based work, including majority 24-hour shifts and some 12-hour or mixed-shift models.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn).
- Current medical license in the state where the hospital is located.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care (preferred).
