OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
The OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care in a hospital environment, ensuring timely and effective intervention for both routine and high-risk cases. This role includes direct patient care, leadership responsibilities in labor and delivery safety, and clinical support for community providers. With a focus on patient outcomes, the OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) demonstrates a commitment to excellence in women's health and fosters strong working relationships with hospital teams and medical staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including contraceptive services where available.
- Provide direct patient care for high-risk obstetrical cases, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support as necessary via telemedicine or consultation.
- Participate actively in daily labor and delivery board rounds to ensure comprehensive patient management and care planning.
- Serve as Safety Officer in the labor and delivery unit, prioritizing patient safety and optimal outcomes for all patients, regardless of primary admitting clinician.
- Support and collaborate with community physicians and midwives, offering clinical assistance and practice coverage as needed and as safely available.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or actively pursuing board certification as an OB/GYN Physician.
- Hold a valid medical license in the state of practice assignment.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nursing staff, and other stakeholders.
- Significant experience in obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
- Ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in fast-paced hospital settings.
