OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist) - Summary
As an OB Hospitalist Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist), you will be at the forefront of inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care, responsible for managing labor and delivery, supporting emergent cases, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This position integrates clinical expertise with a commitment to safety and teamwork, making it ideal for clinicians who excel in dynamic hospital environments and value multidisciplinary collaboration. The OB Hospitalist Physician will work alongside hospital leadership, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to create a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care, including contraceptive services where provided by the hospital.
- Provide direct patient care to high-risk obstetric patients, utilizing Maternal Fetal Medicine support via phone or video consultation as needed.
- Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds, contributing to collaborative care planning.
- Serve as the Safety Officer on Labor and Delivery, ensuring all patients receive the safest possible outcomes regardless of their primary admitting clinician.
- Support and assist community physicians and midwives with clinical care, including coverage requests as feasible and safe.
- Engage in interdisciplinary communication and foster positive relationships with all clinical stakeholders.
- Participate in continuing medical education and maintain active certification and licensure requirements relevant to OB/GYN hospitalist practice.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician (OB/GYN Hospitalist).
- Current medical license to practice in the state of assignment.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong rapport and positive working relationships with hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff.
- Experience with obstetrical emergency care is preferred.
- Commitment to upholding clinical excellence and patient safety standards in all aspects of care delivery.
